the humorous Dr Jensen and the Illustrator

Dr Jensen is a funny Doctor, the one with all the jokes. His college years paperwork has silly aspects, Mad Magazine style humor and his time at the local hospital had jokes on a daily basis. His “funny bone” is connected the “longevity bone” which is connected to the “ancestral bone”. Dr Jensen is humorous.

Found in a Dumpster these original illustrations we believe were done by Steve Sheldon, a local Illustrator and done for Dr Jensen. Mr Sheldon doesn’t seem to have much of a digital presence so the aim of this article is highlight what can be found of his work and show off the humorous Dr Jensen, who wrote the pieces.

Stephen B. Sheldon, a longtime illustrator, died Oct. 28, 2005, of pancreatic cancer at his residence in St. Louis. He was 73.

Mr. Sheldon was born in St. Louis. He served with the Marines during the Korean War, during which time he was awarded the title of combat cartoonist. Later, Mr. Sheldon procured funds to purchase the granite base of the statue portraying Marines raising the American flag on Iwo Jima in World War II.
